Rent a boat in Mallorca and become an accomplice of navigation

Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and the one with the longest history of boat charter. In addition to its coves with turquoise waters and moderate temperatures, the Tramontana wind contributes to making this the most popular island for boat rentals, as it allows you to enjoy moments of sheer pleasure while renting a boat.

What to do with your rental boat in Mallorca?

The island of Mallorca has several coastal towns and villages that are worth visiting during your boat rental week. The capital, Palma de Mallorca, has many interesting places to visit. Among them, the old town and the Cathedral of Palma, that is really unique. The Bellver Castle, from the fourteenth century, is a few meters from the harbor. It is curious because of its circular shape. Pollença in the north, retains a very beautiful traditional architecture, making it truly different from Palma. Andratx, southwest, is one of the most visited towns and a good destination to explore the coast around. Nearby is the island of Dragonera, declared a Natural Park and where you can see a multitude of animal and plant species, being a perfect anchorage for one of your charter days.

Another recommendation when traveling to Mallorca is to visit some of the caves. Ones of the most spectacular and well-known are the Coves del Drach (Dragon Caves), which are located just 200 meters from the port of Manacor, making it very easy to access if you have chosen boat rentals in Mallorca.

And finally, chartering a boat and sailing is one of the best things to do in Mallorca. The island has over 500 kilometers of coastline, making it difficult to know them in a week if your boat is not big enough. But you can choose the area you prefer and take advantage of everything it has to offer. Undoubtedly, the eastern and southern coasts have many more beaches and coves, so this side of the island is surely the best option to enjoy your week charter.

Mallorca Beaches

Mallorca has endless beaches where you can relax and enjoy the best of the Mediterranean where you can anchor with your rental boat. As usual in this part of Europe, there are some long and crowded beaches, with resorts and restaurants nearby, so there the fun and the lively environment are guaranteed. On the other hand there are small coves, some of them unsoiled, where you can relax and admire the clear and clean water. In addition, over 150 beaches on the island are enabled for mooring and you can approach them by sea, making them perfect if you count on your vacation with boat rentals in Mallorca.

- Formentor
Cala Formentor is a long, narrow beach located north of the city of Pollença. The sand is fine and really white, and the water is clean and turquoise. All this added to pine trees lining next to the sand creates a beautiful Mediterranean landscape. Facing the sand there is the small island of Formentor. In this area there is a buoy field where it is advisable to spend the night on your rental boat.

- Caló des Moro
It is located southeast of the island, near the town of Santanyí. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, but the strip of sand is quite small and tourists often have to put their towels on the rocks that surround it. That is why the best way to enjoy it is with a boat provided by hiring boats in Mallorca.

- Cala Varques
This is another one of the Balearic coves that you can enjoy thanks to rent a boat in Mallorca, since the access by land is complicated. It is located east of the island, near Portocristo. It consists of two sandy areas separated by large rocks. There are also several caves in the surrounding cliffs that create a unique and special landscape.

- Es Trenc
Es Trenc is a long beach south of Mallorca, between Sa Rapita and Colonia de Sant Jordi. Although you cannot get too close to the beach with the boat, it is highly recommendable to visit it. The sand is pure white and crystal clear waters give it a heavenly look.

What to eat in Mallorca?

Besides the boat rental, in Mallorca you can enjoy the purest Mediterranean cuisine, as in the rest of Spain and the countries nearby. The main ingredients are meat, fish and vegetables, and of course olive oil. In addition, here there are some typical dishes and ingredients that give a special touch to the cuisine of the island.

The ensaimada is the most characteristic dish of the island. It is a soft, flat and round pastry, usually with a diameter of over 15 centimeters. On the other hand, the sobrasada is also one of the best known elaborations of Mallorca. It is an orange pork sausage, with a powerful flavor thanks to paprika. It can be eaten raw, fried or grilled, and goes with both savory and sweet dishes.

There are other traditional dishes that use the ingredients of the Mediterranean diet. One is the Tumbet, similar to the French Ratatouille. It is made with layers of vegetables, and it can be a vegetarian dish or it can be served with meat or fish. Coca de recapte vaguely reminds the pizza, and is a fine bread dough with vegetables. Finally, the frit is a typical dish made with fried meat and vegetables.
